queersport.org is a not-for-profit internet site aiming to collect and provide information of interest to gay and lesbian sports persons in Europe. We are glad if you submit links and tournament data, but we do not rely solely on this input: We will research by ourselves and surf the web for you. We are putting an emphasis on only offering recent and correct information: no link will stay on forever, we check them regularly whether they still work, have changed address or topic.
Our approach is strictly journalistic. We are not affiliated with any sports organisation. We do not think Outgames are better than Gay Games or the other way round. We want to provide information, not bias.
This is true for both the link directory and the tournament calendar. If it's part of Europe's queer sports world, we want to have it in our lists. Additionally, we list international organisations and tournaments targeting a world wide audience. However, we will not allow our lists to be used for commercial interests.
queersport.org is not an organisation. If you need to contact an umbrella organisation, search our link directory to find the association you need.
We are not marketing agents. We will never endorse one club over another or one event over another.
We are not perfect :-) All your input and feedback is very welcome. Please help us building a site that supports Europe's gay and lesbian sports community.
Over a period of five years, the links and tournaments lists have been on the website of Aufschlag Wien. Now it is felt that they have outgrown their old home as they contain a lot of information having nothing to do with the club. So they have been released to freedom :-) Today, queersport.org is no longer affiliated with Aufschlag but a completely independent source.
queersport.org's language is English. For names of countries, cities and events we always use local names (in latin letters) to reflect the diversity of our continent.
queersport.org's lists are copyrighted. You are welcome to quote information you have found here, but copying major parts or all of the lists will be considered copyright infringement. However, you are very welcome to link to us.
queersport.org comprises links to www resources of interest to gays or lesbians in sports. Inclusion of a web site, an event or an organisation into our lists doesn't necessarily reflect the sexual orientation of its creators, members, staff or target group.
